Dr. Sergeeff is a native of the San Francisco Bay Area (growing up on the Peninsula). She received her DVM degree from UC Davis in 1999. She then completed a one-year rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Purdue University. After her year in Indiana, she returned to the Bay Area to work as an associate in a combination specialty/general practice on the Peninsula for a year. In 2001, Dr. Sergeeff entered into a three-year internal medicine residency at the University of Minnesota. She became board certified in small animal internal medicine by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) in 2004. After her residency, she moved back to California and has been a staff internist at a multi-doctor referral only specialty practice in the San Jose area for the past 5 years, prior to joining BDC Specialty Services.
Dr. Sergeeff enjoys all the facets of internal medicine, but has special interests in endocrinology, gastroenterology, renal disease, and critical care. Dr. Sergeeff likes solving puzzles, and she uses the combination of diagnostic tests, knowledge of disease processes, and her clinical experience to help her patients. Her goal as an internist is to provide comprehensive information and options for clients in order to provide their pets with the best possible care and outcome with their illnesses. In her limited spare time, Dr. Sergeeff enjoys spending time with her family and her three rapidly growing nephews, “serving” her 2 cats that rule the house, gardening, wine tasting, and exploring new restaurants throughout San Francisco.
